As an aside, we&#039;ve been pushing people to use jQuery rather than $ in plugins, and most plugins do in fact use it. If you get your plugins from the jQuery svn, you&#039;ll get much more up-to-date and compliant ones.

Incidentally, you should also test for $. in plugins (and replace with jQuery.) because many plugins use the jQuery namespace (or a subset of it) to hold settings (or things that might otherwise be globals).</description>
